Case study
A Harpenden garden that works after dark.
Restrained path lighting and planting highlights, with separate controls and a considered cable route.

The problem
The owners wanted to see the path and use the garden in the evening without turning the whole space into a floodlit area. The proposal needed to balance useful light, the existing planting and the route for the installation.
What we did
The design specifies low path lights, two planting highlights and a light by the garden building. Fittings, outdoor suitability, switching and the protected cable route are agreed before installation. The finished lighting is tested and adjusted during handover.
The result
The proposed design makes the route easier to see and gives the planting a warm background. The paired images show an illustrative lighting change from the same viewpoint, rather than evidence of measured lighting performance.
The path feels clear and the garden still feels calm. That was exactly the balance we wanted.
