The story
Iris, as the curtains stir
The curtains move before you feel the breeze. Light reaches the floor in a narrow strip, then shifts towards a chair. There is a little green from the window box, and a cooler patch of shade by the wall.
Iris Fumé begins with violet leaf. Orris root gradually softens its edges, giving the centre a powdery texture that feels like cloth warmed by the sun. A thread of incense moves through the background.
It is an afternoon slowly giving itself over to evening. Nothing has quite changed, yet the room feels different. A sleeve is pulled over the wrist, a book is closed, and the last light rests on the folds of the curtain before slipping away.
